That'd be me.
I'd say it depends a lot on the type of application you are talking about. If it's of the type "I need this for my work, and if I use it only once or twice, I'd gladly pay $2 for it because it saves me a lot of time" then go for paid. If its something that few people will use, but they will use it often (as in a reference manual of sorts), then these few people will generate many ad views, and making it ad-supported may be beneficial.

So, is that for sale to educational institutions, or something?
Probably the basic education discount for anyone in education at any level except HE.

I know it's really low, but can you go any lower? And where abouts in the UK are you?
As the money from this sale will be going towards the purchase of the iPhone 3G which will cost 159 I am unable to go any lower than 170.
The package was previously 205, so I have dropped it by 35, I thank you for realising that.
As it currently stands I am only set to make 10 on the deal myself.
I am currently based in Widnes, Cheshire.
Thanks for your interest,

Hi there,
I just got myself a macbook pro as everybody told me how great it is compare to PC....
I'm used to to Foobar on PC as a music library and cant find a player which does what I want on mac.
I've seen Songbird, itunes, vlc and others but here's what I'd like to get on a player :
- be able to delete the song (on the hardrive) strait from the library
- using the rating used in foobar, songbird (an extra tag is added on the file, not like Itunes which save the rating on a external database)
- as light as possible (no need of internet, lyrics, pictures of the album or videos player)
- be able to take care of more than 150Go of musik
- make me smile and make the sun out tomorrow :)
Well, if anyone knows something which could work, you'll make me happy :D
Cheers

I have a M0001 original Macintosh and a A9M0303 printer (I think this is a "Imagewriter"), which gives me the following error message when I try to print: "You have an old printer driver. Put new System on your disk." How do I do this? I do have a separate System Disk, but not sure about how to use it. Also, how can I find if this one has the signatures on the interior? The Serial Number is F4352C5M0001.

The guides category needs some better organization IMO.
We should decide if we want almost everything in sub-categories or most of it just in the guide category itself. I think having it half-half just confuses users and makes articles harder to find.
We should use the distinction between subcategories and the actual category to distinguish between more "important" and less "important" guides.
In an attempt to make the Mac Beginner's Guide more prominent I added a sub-category but I don't know whether this would be the best way to go about it, so before I do anything else I think we should talk about how we want to organize this category.
So feel free to delete the subcategory I created until we figure something out.

They know good products?
BTW. If all you can occupy your time with in line is count races then maybe you should bring a gameboy or a book.

Ajybody remembe this gadget from early last year? It was in the 60-80 dollar range. You simply place your ipod into a sort of latch in the back and it would give you the standard 7 inch display of a tablet. As far as i remember, it only came in black. I bwlieve it also incorporated the word "magic" into its trademark. Haven't heard a word of it since the iPad released. Did Apple get all corporate and cease and desist them or does Google simply refer any search for "ipod" and "tablet" to the iPad by chance?

Many thanks David - I looked at that device and it's probably going to work for me. As well, I have one of the TEAC drives in my possession already. So, I'm going to go visit a friend with a Zenith Z-150 and see if his will work, and if not I'll purchase that device. Again, many thanks....

Most of the apple users work on Windows PC's at work. At least I do... Hope that changes sometime...
Anyways, I'm a vivid .Mac user, have all my stuff stored in Mail, Addressbook, iCal, Safari Bookmarks ,etc. I iSync everything to .Mac but when I'm at work, I have no counterpart application for it...
I'm stuck with the bookmarks popup window that at least has now links to the addressbook and the mail application. There's no link to iCal or anything web based that allows me to change and update my iCal calendar.
Is there something that can edit iCal files on a windows pc?

Objective-C doesn't have class variables. At all. Google objective-c class variable and see what comes up.
File-scope statics work. So do statics defined in a function or method. Exactly like C.

Yeah that's the general idea, sorry.
Let's say I'm the first person to rec 10 songs.
For those 10 songs, 5 people also rec them and gave 20 if you like this song try these songs recs.
That way instead of having to view every single song I've rec'd I can have an automatic bookmark type list of other's recs for the songs I like.
You could have similar lists with songs that have comments, etc.

I've done 5 warranty replacements for my zagg invisible shield (4 times because replacement iPhones, and 1 because I messed up). Will they eventually end my lifetime warranty for getting too many replacements? My replacements were all in a period of 2 months. How many replacements have you guys gotten?

Transfer speed is also something to consider if you will be routinely moving large amounts of data. You said you have a Macbook, but is it the standard model or the Pro model. A standard Macbook only has USB 2.0, but the Pro models will offer FW.
Edit: For clarification, if you do have a standard Macbook, some of the older models did come with a FW400 port, but the current unibody plastic model does not offer one.

Okay, first, warranty, risk, blah, blah...
Second: Greenpois0n 4.2.1 is coming untethered any day now, so you might want to wait...
BUT! Here is how you do it. Unzip it. (unfamiliar with windows unzipping tools) edit: I use stuffit expander free on my mac, and I just found out they have a windows version. go for that. than look for an xxxxxxx.ipsw file. That's your firmware.:D

I can not edit song info using my iTunes. When I do File->Get Info and then go to the info Tab all the fields appear to be read-only. I can not edit. Can anybody tell me how to do it?
Thanks Is that just one song? It might have something wrong with it. If it is all of them - try repairing permissions?
